Assisted Life Changes Transition

We believe that how our participants manage in their homes and lives can change when their physical or mental health changes. Depending on your individualized need for support to stay safe at home for a variety of reasons such as a new health condition, frequent falls or changes in life circumstances, which may necessitate the need to do new things or inability to perform regular tasks. Our occupational therapists can assess your needs and your environment and provide recommendations about adaptations or advice to help you stay safe and well at home in all you do. This may often include working closely with other professionals such as physiotherapists and learning disability nurses. Throughout a person’s life they can experience many changes, including leaving school, moving from child to adult, changing domiciles and experience health changes and family circumstances changes. Our services in this regard are; Providing accessible information to support understanding of the changes participants are experiencing; Following a dementia management pathway, offering baseline assessment for participants; Baseline assessment for people with learning disabilities experiencing changes in their memory; Provision of information or advice with appropriate age-related health screenings; Guidance on home safety and environmental care, for participants who have newly relocated.

Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapists work with people with learning disabilities and their families to provide support with a range of activities they need or want to do in their daily life. We work with people to develop new and existing skills, by making recommendations about useful materials and equipment.

Daily Living Skills

ELC Daily Living Skills package provides services to adults with various developmental disabilities and who have adequate motor and adaptive skills to train for life skills in a closely supervised and structured setting. The programme is designed to meet the diverse needs of participants and promote personal growth in maximizing functional ability, independence and exposure to real life activities. We provide a serene environment for participants to relax and interact with themselves and we also offer customized services to participants to acquire specific skills and social trainings. This includes a variety of personal care tasks based on participants needs, such as grooming, mouth care, personal hygiene and dressing. Another segment of living skills services we offer includes; grocery shopping, meal preparation, washing dishes, general cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming and learning how to do laundry. In our Daily Living Skills programme, the primary focus is to participate in and build on the meaningful and necessary activities that will allow our participants achieve their personal goals and enjoy greater independence in their lives.
